I'm pretty much sure the solution to this is saw down the crack and glue. But for the second crack thats not all the way through, are there any other suggetions? This was caused by the back being over the edge of my work bench, and dropping my #5 plane on it. oops_sign (at least plane landed on my newly placed anti-fatigue instead the bare concret floor. I just shappened the blade. Bridge side right?)

I would mark either side of the line with a white pencil, clamp the edges to close the crack tightly and then wick thin CA into it.

Right smack in the middle. I just finished shooting that edge and am getting ready to glue. I can't true up the other edge and join it with out making a smaller guitar.

If that is walnut you won't want to use CA. The CA will show , here is a perfect candidate for Hot Hide Glue. You can make it as good as new. Hot Hide will wick into cracks and fibers making a good repair. With this being a force crack you should also be able to clamp this closed simple enough.

I don't know about plain walnut but u have used CA on figured Clark to fix a crack I caused and it's invisible before and after finish.

It is walnut. Guess I'll order some Hot hide glue next payday. Thanks for the tips everyone.

I use HHG for just about everything but Titebond will work just fine for this.

I may have to take you up on that. When you say "shop", do you mean your work shop, or do you operate a store?

I wicked in some tight bound this weekend. It looks to have resolved that issue. Now I'm fighting my $25 smoothing plane. [headinwall] But that is a story for another time.

No, just my basement workshop. I'm not a pro (not even close) but I have HHG and dind't want you to have to wait until you were able to order some, when you could just pop in and glue it. Sounds like you already took care of it though. . .

You can dilute Titebond but looking at those pics and having done this several times before you just rub the Titebond in as is while flexing a little bit then wedge it tight.

That's no biggie at all.
