I've begun the finishing journey. I'm using egg whites for pore filler. I did 4 coats with progressively finer grit sandpaper between each, ending wit 320. I'm padding a Zinsser sanding seal coat cut 50% with dna and a few drops of olive oil. I get about 3 coats per day. I'm up to a 2000 grit pad between coats so far. Probably another week to completion.ImageImageImage

Thinking I need to get back on with my challenge build but doing this instead... At least these threads are good motivation!
I love the sunburst Glenn. I think I'm going to try something similar on this one.

That's got to be painful! Worked for 4 weeks on a turned ankle that turned out to be badly cracked.
Hope you heal soon.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I'm just trying to find the bridge....Has anybody seen the bridge? Where's that confounded bridge?

I finished up all the fret work on this one and got started making the bridge.
