Hi. Olfers I need help for my neck or headstock cracked. This cracked for second time. First time cracked I use CA glue. And this time I want to try Titebond. But I want to know why that headstock not enought to hold the strings? This EUB guitar I uses weedwacker string. And I need your suggestion for this problem. Thank's so much

At a glance, it looks like a large stress riser across a very short cross section of end grain with little support.
Basically a sort of short half lap/butt joint? There's no strength in the end grain south of the peg box, and only a short lap in the upper part of the neck.
It's such a short length, especially the peg box side of the joint, I'm not even sure that Ebony or CF bars and epoxy would offer enough reinforcement, although certainly more than the original joint.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Short of making a new neck. I would try a couple of dowels.

I cannot seem to understand what I am looking at.

But, CA was by far the wrong choice. Regular Tite Bond and some clamps. Dowels if you have the ability.

The big red thing to the right is a scroll bass headstock. The thing on the left is the back of the neck, with the truss rod nut sticking out the top. It took me a while for the perspective to make sense, too.

Yeah, dowels, I guess. Watch out for the truss rod slot and the rod itself.

Ya'll think Tite Bond will work over wood saturated with CA?

And what is that fiber looking stuff? Double sided tape? Fiberglass?

Yes Harry, it wasn't a dig at you at all.
I remember seeing your earlier posts, you built from the The Libellula plans on Mottola's site.
Doesn't mean its not a high stress type of joint.
The lap section which broke twice is only about 3/4" long on the plans, and the pegbox section 1/2".
Not a whole lot of wood for the stress on and /weight of the pegbox.

Unless you can remove the glue "residue 100%" (I think impossible in the case of CA) PVA glue will not work properly, it has to saturate the open wood pores. I would suggest the dowels and a high strength Epoxy.
