I'd like a design for a paper label for inside the body.

Computer layout design is not my strong suit (or my interest).

Does anyone have a template of a label they can share with me? I like building guitars but computer layout is not my strong suit.

What sort of format are you looking for? I have an editable PNG version of mine, but it's pretty specific to me and isn't a very standard looking one. It's fairly easy to make one on photoshop or something and you can get images or patterns from google images to make it look a bit more interesting.

I found there are dozens of graphic designers selling logo design on eBay. I'll give that a shot.

You will undoubtedly find some help among the responses here. But, let me express my feeling that if you get a free label template, it'll be worth about as much as a free hand made guitar. You will probably not see the comparison I'm offering here. If you do, you probably won't care. However, I'm a career professional graphic designer and I care. I'm just sayin'...

I think you first need to choose a general direction. (search guitar label) and go from there. Decide what info you want on it. Just a simple word doc can do. Anything can look good as long as it has some kind of border.

I hired it out. The gal that did it was very reasonable. She came up with half a or so dozen choices (like it or not). I like to support local.

I may change somewhere down the road. For now Andy Depaule has the template for shell and I can get logos quick enough if I need them.

Unfortunately all the good names were taken. I'm stuck with what I have.

I don't know about that.
Playing a "Vincent", you could walk with a swagger!
(depending on the playing of course)
I still remember getting a funny look from my guitar making teacher when I jokingly said I could use my own name - "Colin's" guitars

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Go to a local business that sponsors local events like 5 and 10k races. Ask them who does that graphics design work and contact them. Every town has graphics designers. Most of them will help you for fairly reasonable costs
