Mike, quote from this SM page http://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools/Types_of_Tools/Drill_Bits/1-step_Peghole_Drill_Bit.html
it reads
Quote:
For Grover, Schaller and Gotoh sealed tuners

I seem to remember you favour Gotoh 510s- For technical drawings check
http://www.lmii.com/products/mostly-not-wood/tuning-machines/steel-string-tuners/gotoh-510-tuners
Just go to page and
Quote:
click on individual tuners, below

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thank you. I want one, just have to figure out how to hide from teenage son. He'd use it to drill holes in his muffler.
