Aldi are currently selling quite decent sized (4"?), solid (metal case) analogue hygrometers/thermometers which can be adjusted.
I was a bit sceptical about the manual saying "no need to calibrate, done at the factory", but it's within 2% of my other two for RH, and 0.2 degrees C. out of the box.
And at £3.99, I'm off to buy another one for the spray shop....

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Good luck, I've now got 2 reading the same, + 2% from my calibrated ones, which are actually due for a check anyway soon.
Like Argos, they've got a no-quibble exchange/refund policy as long as you have the receipt, so if you've any doubts...
