The first (3rd attempt) is done! The dang thing is a mess with cosmetic errors all over the place, but I don't care I'm just happy to have completed the build :)

What a feeling and a sense of accomplishment. Thank you all for the help and advice, I never could have done this without you guys.

On to #2

Here's a pic of the new beater (player for me)Image

[:Y:] [:Y:] Looks great from here! Bet it sounds great too. Bet you learned a lot too. Way to hang in there and not feed it to the Polar Bears Joey.

It's a 'journey'....if it sounds good, plays well and you learned a few things, congratulations!! Most 'cosmetic errors' are known only to the builder. Looks good from here. Carry on!!!!

Well done, Joey! It's good to see that the bumps in the road didn't slow you down!

Looks nice- much nicer than my first. Congratulations on completing your guitar. What are your plans for number 2?

That is a very nice looking guitar for your first [:Y:]

Wasn't it exciting when you first strung it up and played that first chord? I have done a number of rebuilds and major repairs but nothing compared to when I strung up my first build.

All in all it looks like you did a pretty nice job on it and the style is pretty consistent.

Nice job.

Cheers,
Bob

#2 is an OM Baritone, no cutaway this time. Dalbergia Cultrata B&S, curly redwood top, mahogany neck. I'm going to try to do this one much faster.

It took me 5 years to finish #1 but I started this attempt earlier this year after dropping my quilted maple/redwood build on the floor while wet sanding the finish. Hoping to finish this one by November [:Y:]

Working should be a lot easier when baseball season is over and I'm not tempted to sit on the couch drinking beer watching the game. I got so much more done when I didn't have cable!

Way to go on your first! Nice!

People see my guitars and ask how many I've sold, LOL! laughing6-hehe

They can't see the screw-ups, imperfections and problems. oops_sign

I just grin and say I'm still practicing.
