Hi Everyone, I just wanted to give you all the "heads up" that my tonewood store is stocked up with some really nice materials. Please check my store out and see if there is anything that may interest you. I have some interesting species available such as quartersawn white oak,
American eastern hemlock tops, Adirondack tops, and some super nice ziricote! I list new wood sets daily, much more to see every day.
Thank you all very much for your continued support!
Best, Aaron Hix.

Mr. Hix,
As you know I have purchased a number of sets from you and can attest that your tone wood is first class. You will see me purchasing from you more in the future. HOWEVER, your shipping costs to Canada is around $45 which is about 2x the cost of when I have purchased tone wood from Europe or Australia...much greater distance. There are many guitar builders in Canada and I would surmise that your sales to the Great White North would only increase if there was a way to reduce the shipping cost. I, for one, would not generally need to receive the product in a rush. Might there be a cheaper shipping option even if it takes longer to deliver?

But again, I strongly endorse you as a great supplier of great tone wood.
Kind regards,
Doug

True Doug but you have to realise shipping multiple sets brings the price down per set considerably. By ordering more wood you're not spending money, you're saving money.

Certainly I understand that Danny. Yet that same benefit can be obtained by other global sources offering shipping at half the cost.

Always have it shipped via USPS, not UPS or Fedex. The latter companies charge heinous brokerage fees at the border.

Im sorry for such a delay in responding to this thread. Been crazy busy the past few weeks. I have been processing over 500 high grade Adirondack spruce tops! When they are dry in a few weeks I will be posting some for sale, although many are pre-sold already.
Doug, I very much appreciate your patronage! I do realize that Priority mail via USPS is a bit more expensive, but it is a MUCH better service. The PO treats these packages with much better care than standard shipping.. I think it is well worth a few extra bucks to get your order un-crushed. I have used every carrier and every shipping option they all offer, USPS Priority is the best option by far.

Lonnie, glad you like the wood! Thanks for your business!

Your welcome Bud. My cousin took one look at it and commissioned a tenor guitar out of it.

The Ziricote is really figured. Do quartersawn Zirictoe backs exist anymore? I think they look better than the wild stuff. Seems like a lot of quartersawn material is no longer availabe - cocobolo, is another.

Just got my first order from Aaron and it won't be my last! Set of premium EIR with beautiful purple grain that is just curved enough. It came well packaged and promptly. Also, when I emailed back and forth with Aaron he was super responsive. Thanks Aaron!

Doug,
I think the best solution would be to just go pick the sets up yourself. Aaron only lives an hour or two from me. U can come stay with me and finish up my in progress guitars. In exchange I'll drive you to GA. Sound like a plan?? I'm pretty far behind due to my recent move and could use your assistance. :)

I'm a new customer of Aaron's only bought a couple sets from him but he got it to me quickly at a very reasonable price. Not like some who want to tack on a 26$ fee to ship something that ships for 6 bucks. Lots of those out there. I know they say that's for handling. That's like paying the grocery store guy to open his doors and stock his shelves. Supposed to be part of doing business. Like a car dealership charging you 450$ for document fees. That's to get your car registered. The same thing you do every year with the DMV.
