Can western red cedar be used for kirfing without problems. Also sources for spanish cedar

I've used WWC on several guitars and it works just fine. Nice and light and smells great. Grain orientation is important if you use a plane to get your linings flush and angled because it tends to be more brittle then spruce or basswood. IF they do pop out though then you can just glue them back.
