FINALLY! Congrats on a happy conclusion to this journey :D Hopefully it will survive many years of heavy use :)

Certainly does look like a fun time unwrapping it. A guitar in a case in a wrap with ribbon in a box in a bag with string

Exactly!!! And it went just as planned! :D I remember what it's like being a kid!

She used scissors (very carefully!) to cut the string. Then we pulled and tore at the plastic bag. Then I gave her a tip off as to where the best place to get into the box was.... I helped a little by lifting it out the box and laying it in front of her. She managed to pull the wrong bit of the bow, so we used the scissors again to get past the ribbon... At which point she went full "Christmas morning glee" and tore back the wrapping!

It was only once it was out of the case she went a little nervy. She definitely loves it though, she loves the colour and loves that it's made from "Rosie-wood". I explained to her that each line in the top is one year the tree grew. She said, "Trees? that's where paper comes from!". She strummed a bit and then I played her a song. It was all very nice. Just how I hoped. I'll go over with my Baby Taylor (smallest guitar I have, don't want her to get too much guitar envy!) soon for a jam!

After going up to bed, her mum obviously sent her down to thank me again (maybe it was her idea?), which was very sweet, and I remembered I had the card to give her still. So all went perfectly!
