Best wishes Shane. Hope the new owners decide to carry Harp tops.

Will they maintain connectivity here as u do/did?

I have advised that they should and I think they will even post some progress pictures of the new saw shop and the move of equipment to the new home. They also plan to carry a diverse set of top sizes, including harp guitar sets. I doubt that they will carry most of the other products I had and they won't make things like radius dishes and sanding blocks and moulds as I did.
Thanks

Shane

Good luck Shane, and thanks for all the great wood. The new guys will have their work cut out for them to match the quality of your stuff.

Don't how bad this is, but the Lake Drive Lumber web site is down, and has been long enough for Google to stop listing it.

I hope that's not because they are shutting down the business....

Lake Drive Lumber is building a new website to incorporate the tonewood business. The transfer process (moving the name to a new owner, transferring the URL, setting up bank accounts and paypal and postal accounts, getting packaging materials and other administration in place, etc) is no small task. They have an inventory of about 1000 sets total of all grades right now and are still processing, so once they have everything set up they should be able to start shipping. Be patient, they are serious about giving good service and a quality product, they just need to get things set up properly and have various tasks appropriately delegated.

Thanks
Shane

Hi Tom and Larry, the unfilled orders have been transferred to them as well. I have suggested that once they are ready that post a list of who they have waiting and you all then get back to them at the coordinates that they post so that you establish solid contact with each other. Shouldn't be too much longer...

Shane

It's definitely important to be prepared out of the gate rather than start processing early just to get stuff out and then be caught with your pants down.

Sounds like they have the right idea.

I kind of feel sorry for the folks in limbo though.

Maybe Shane could prompt them to fill those orders before the site officially opens first, just to clear the air?

I think that if they have over 1000 tops across the grades already they could do that at least....

Then they are starting fresh.

I wouldn't be surprised if the people waiting for wood felt similarly

It would be a very savvy business move that should have been made already IMHO.

I agree with all the above in wishing you and yours all the best for the future.
I hope your business goes very well, and it's commendable that you can see
the handwriting on the wall and pass the luthier wood business on to others
that can focus on it. Personally, I never had any problems getting the wood
from you that I had ordered, and most of my guitars have your wood on them.
I'm so glad you didn't just bail, but took on finding people to take over the
business, because as stated above, this wood is an extremely valuable
resource for the luthier community.

Best Wishes [:Y:] [:Y:] [:Y:]

Just so you all know, I got an response to my last email I sent the new owners last week. The new website should be up and running sometime next week, and they should be ready to ship some wood about at the same time.

The new email for HMTC is hmtw@citywest.ca.

Yesterday I received my order from the NEW High Mountain Tonewood company. The order went well, shipping was trouble-free and the Lutz looks great. Very well quartered stuff.

Great news Doug! I have been over there a few times while I have been home these past few days. Bobby is working hard to do a great job and Bruce, Leanne, Bobby and Jim are all about ensuring the quality stays top notch and the customer service improves from when I was running it. We just moved over some harp guitar billets that I just won't have time to process so they will have some of those available soon as well. Some nice colourful cedar as well!

Shane
