So I just renewed my subscription to the classified section of the OLF. I'd encourage all of you lurkers to do the same. Where else do we get such benefit for only $11.88 per year? We all benefit tremendously to this peer-learning platform and it's the least we can do to support Lance who makes all of this happen.

You're right on, Doug! Probably the best $12 I've spent since I bought the wife's engagement ring! ;) All kidding aside, and I've said it before, there is a lot to be learned from the questions asked, and the exchange of info, in the Classifieds.

Alex

I did it, thanks for the suggestion. I check this site almost daily and though I dont find a lot cause there are more lurkers like myself than talkers. Thank all of you. I do benefit from it so I donated. I hope there will be enough people donating to keep it going.

I have compiled a decent sized stack of wood and a bevy of tools by browsing the Classifieds here. In fact, I rarely purchase anything related to guitar-building anywhere but here or through one of the forum sponsors. It's a good way to get to know people on a more personal level. Just a week or so ago I met with John Parchem to divvy up a load of tops purchased from Shane. That was super fun!

are the classifieds good for people living Europe? I'm put off by the idea of paying for postage from the U.S.

I've only been signed up for a while but I don't recall seeing anything in the UK. I looked at it as a donation that gets me the chance of... something ... maybe ... one day. :) Main reason was to contribute.

Joe, i can talk about my experience (portugal): if it´s small bits and pieces (say, some bridge blanks, a chisel, ...) chances are you can get away without customs drama. bigger pieces will inevitably end up there. sometimes you can get a seller to declare a lower value for customs and so pay a little bit less. i used to shy away from it at first, but now i really don´t care any more. (oops, should i´ve said that here?)

Nick, I just signed up. Now we can sell each other things. Do you want to buy a guitar?

Haha! Awesome... Is it a Sallis? Would you be interested in a Royle L-00?

I've just sold some bits on eBay (non guitar related) and used the money to buy a drill press but hopefully you'll never see that on the classifieds! At least one person has said I'll get bored and sell it in a year... No way!
