So I think I have a growing sense as to how one can manipulate the construction/bracing of a guitar in order to increase or decrease the bass and treble of its sound. Can anything be done to manipulate the same for the mid-range and isolate its influence in that regard?

The waist may have some effect, I've read that the lack of a waist is responsible for the "scooped" mids on a dred.

I've noticed that the L-00 type guitars I've built, and also my own Opus shape, both with tight waists, all have stronger mids. Small sample, only six, but it seems to be a trend.

Switch from scalloped to tapered bracing, the midrange (dipole) will raise in pitch I *believe*.
Also wood choice, such as the mid difference in similar guitars made of mahogany, walnut, or rosewood...
