Looking great Arron! It's fun to watch two at a time go together. If you're just going to throw out those Brazilian scraps on the floor beside your dehummer you can send them my way.

Cheers,
Danny

Hey Aaron those guitars look great.

When you use the tung oil for finish, are you pore filling at all? If so, what do you use with the tung oil?

Neil

Thanks, Neil! I am not doing any pore fill on these guitars, I really like being able to see and feel the woods' texture. I am not a big fan of the plastic factory look.
Pore filling can be done with tung oil by "wet sanding" with some tung oil to create sort of a slurry and wiping across the grain leaving the slurry in the pores. I just prefer sanding the wood to 600 grit or so and not worry with pore filling. If I am finishing a guitar that needs the high gloss finish, I use the uralkyd 500 gloss finish, which is a tung oil based varnish.

Thanks, Danny! I have a huge pile of wood scraps, I save almost all usable pieces, its a sickness! haha I really do not know what exactly I am saving it for, though.. its going to overrun my workspace and run me out of my shop one day!
Bring a pickup truck over sometime, I'll load you up with wood scraps!
