Hello all i'm at the stage of making the bridge for my second guitar (00 size) which will be a plain 6inch by 1 inch rectangular gibson 00 style.I discovered that gibson sloped these bridges from bass to treble side ,so as the average height of a bridge is around 3/8 inch would this be 3/8 at the centre or at the bass side and allso how much of a slope is advisable from bass to treble? Now to neck angle/fretboard plane question, when placing a straight edge on the centre of the fretted board how much clearance is advisable over the top of a sloping bridge at centre? Thanks in advance Rob

Regarding the bridge slope, I slope the bridge to almost match the fingerboard radius, just a little less. But I usually make the center of the bridge the high point and slope a little each way. You don't need much slope. If you want to match a certain Gibson model then it would be best to take measurements right off it. Keep in mind there will most likely be a variation within a particular model run.

Regarding the neck angle, if the fingerboard is fretted, then a straight edge down the center should be about 1/64" to 3/64" above the center of the bridge. On an OO I wouldn't expect the top to move much under string tension.
