I am drawing up a design for a 7 or 8 string that also includes some super trebles. I envision wanting to pluck the individual super treble strings and play melodies on them, not just strum them. My first thought was to space them .5 -.75 inch apart but it seems everyone else spaces them much tighter.

Those of you who play, are you ok with just standard guitar string spacing on the super trebles, or do you want a bit more ?

Thanks.

I space my super trebles 7/16" apart. This is the same as my 6 string section spacing where I will be plucking. My nut is always 1 7/8".

Oh, and I do play. This is the spacing John Doane uses.
