Really nothing that says 'vintage' on the instrument - looks like modern finger style instrument...the belly is a safer bet.

+1

Exactly my thought.

Hey Fred. If it's non-traditional, maybe try a belly bridge with pyramid wings LOL !

'28 Nick Lucas sported a belly/pyramid bridge...pretty traditional.

Thanks for reminding me, Todd. Usually I've got a memory like....like....those big gray animals...with the floppy ears and long nose...LOL !!!

The belly looks better with the curves of the body with or without the cutaway! I agree with those who said "Why not, this an untraditional guitar in so many other ways already." Nice soundboard, by the way. -

I'd really like to build myself a plain-jane 00-12. Everyone says to be careful not to believe available plans (historical records?) and <not> to over brace. What are they talking about? Sorry for the hijack, I don't see too many of these.

Thanks for the replies, the consensus here belly bridge matches my feelings and the opinions of a few local guitarists that have seen the guitar. So I shaped the second belly bridge and now have a Pyramid bridge stashed away for later use. I have used CNC pyramid bridges in the past so shaping this one was a great learning experience and quite enjoyable. Being somewhat new at this (7 years ) I really enjoy when I master a new skill so carving a bridge for the future was not a wasted effort.

Fred
