Have we ever considered starting a gallery sub-forum? It could be broken down into categories by body shape, wood types, or flavor. Whatever. Just an idea.... beehive

Unless you want a cluttered mess, it's a lot of work for someone (LANCE)!

It will eat up a good chunk of server too. Would be nice though.

Are you thinking just a subforum where every one posts to the same thread, or as mentioned above, threads based on body style?
Or a forum where everyone has there own thread
i.e.
Lance Kragenbrink's guitars

I am game for either...

Bandwidth and space are not an issue..

My thought was to have a thread for body shapes or back/sides woods rather than maker. But that's just a thought. Glad to hear you are game Lance!

Is there not an area in he forum software where you can turn on a gallery feature in user profiles? Then, if you get advice from someone and want to weigh it based on their work you can go see it, in context.

Not that I am aware of. I have been looking. Nothing so far.
WE are on an older version of phpBB 3.0.1, not 3.0.11. I would like to update but have not had the time or resources to do so yet.

Ok, so what ill do for now is create a new sub forum that we can use as a gallery.
I will make several threads that will identify body styles.
From there we can add more styles.

I would love to ad a Pinterest button so that people and PIN awesome pics from the OLF to their pin page. As well as a Facebook like button.
If anyone can help me with the coding and placement of the buttons that would be appreciated!

This will get us started. If at some point down the road we find a better solution. Lets all agree that we can
abandon this idea for a better one should that happen.

Sounds sweet! I can't wait to see Ann the amazingness this will contain! Also maybe have a thread for rosettes. It's always cool to be able to look at rosettes for inspiration.

Another suggestion I would have is for people to keep comments to a minimum to keep it clean. So you can just look at pics without having to sort through pages of comments. Just a place to display and look. Just a thought. I don't know if anyone else agrees with that or not. What do y'all think?

Yes it would! I could just see it getting out of hand with all the ooohs and aahs that some of the beautiful instruments deserve. As a gallery though I say leave the comments to the discussion forums.
