Does anyone else have this problem? It doesn't fit a normal M/T mortise slot. The first one I had to sand down to fit my mortise slot. It finally broke from weakening the weld joint. I got I different neck angle jig and ordered another attachment and it is still too big. These are standard M/T widths. I guess I'll have to sand this one down also and wait for it to finally break.

A quick look at Stew Mac's catalog and it looks like you are supposed to fashion your own block out of wood to attach to the metal piece . No need to modify the metal piece. It has holes to screw to your wood block. In fact on the web site I found. "The Acoustic attachment is designed to mount to the block or shim than you create to custom fit your dovetail or bolt on neck joint."
Are you sure this wasn't in the instructions that came with the unit ? In any case it is a simple matter to make something to attach to your guitar and to attach to the metal piece.
