One of the regulars who post here was selected with some special company for an artical in AGM. Steve Kinnaird and 7 other top draw luthiers have a spread in the March 2013 issue. Congrats Steve, well deserved. I'm sure I'm not the only person who admires your work ,especially your classy design sense. Way to go Steve.

I would love to read that. I was supposed to get a free subscription to that magazine when I joined A.S.I.A. in 2012 (October, I believe). I've yet to receive any issues. When I contact the publication, they have no record of me and when I contact A.S.I.A I get an automated email. Frustrating.

Dustin, don't feel too bad...I am a regular subscriber to the mag (advertise there every month to boot) and I haven't received a copy of that issue either!

Tom, thanks for the very kind words!

Steve

Steve,
Just got my issue of AGM. Your guitar is my favorite of the bunch. And I agree with Todd, you price your work too low!

Hey thanks, Todd!
Yeah, the prices went up shortly before this issue hit the stands.
Not to coincide with it, but the increase was planned for months before.
Timing looks a bit suspect, but it's just how things fell.

Thanks again,

Steve

...and I agree that your guitar is by far the most handsome of the bunch. Would love to hear it. What are your impressions of the sonic character of the sinker redwood?

Sinker redwood is what WR Cedar wants to grow up to be.
It has much of the warmth of cedar, and a lot of the sparkle of spruce.
Darker, less crystalline than spruce, but with much more clarity and precision than cedar.
I think it pairs with walnut exceptionally well.

Tone is an awfully subjective topic, and one difficult to describe, but I hope these generalities help a bit.

Thanks again for the kind word,

Steve
