You mean we're supposed to finish builds before buying more wood? I guess that would explain why I'm pretty much out of room for more sets...

Well, I finished 3 builds in the past 13 months, and I could probably get that to 4 or 5 next year without too much difficulty, especially if i can work it to where I have a lot of stuff to do that doesn't involve cross-grain gluing in the humid summer months. Although I may actually keep it to just 2, and devote more time to some of my other quests in life. Particularly video game development.

Let's hope we all actually survived the apocalypse, and civilization doesn't come crashing down over the course of the next year pizza

A Very Happy New Year to one and all.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

After finally finishing the year long build of #1 for my daughter on Christmas eve, #2 was started on the 26th and moving along nicely. Should be closing the box in the next day or two. Thank you to everyone here who shares their knowledge. Happy New Year!

Happy new year to you Lance and everyone else that hangs out here. Thanks for keeping the lights on too Lance. I learn something useful almost every visit. I, for one, am ready to put 2012 far behind me. [uncle]
