Hi all. just thought I would share my good news with you that our friend..guitar builder Mike collins has started building me a dreanought guitar! I have three other of Mikes wolrd class guitars..two small steel strings and one nylon string cut-a-way hybryd. Most of you here know Mike stopped building dreadnoughts many years ago when he felt the passion he has for building Classical and Flemenco guitars, even though at that time he was a much sought after dreadnought builder. after almost 30 yrs of begging...he has finally agreed to build me one! :D ..cant wait! here is a pic of the headstock inlay. I'll post a few other pics from time to time as it progresses. I am a happy camper!
Thanks,Mike!!

Larry I'm looking forward to seeing this guitar progress. Can't believe Mike's building a dred.

Bob-I got the Indian from you in Woodstock last year.
It's kind of curly!

Dave -I've fixed a million boatnaughts so what the heck!
It's cold on the dark side.

Bless you and may you spawn many offspring that continue to support guitar builders in such a manner. [:Y:]

Thanks CharlieT.. :)
Part of the reason for this build was a year or so ago I was playing a popular Bluegrass Festival and a very well known picker said...
" whats the matter.."boy"..cant afford a real guitar?? what an a-hole!!!!! I was playing a Guild DV-52 at the time. Blew away most of the ...off the rack..guitars at that fest! anyway..any guitar from Mike Collins is special.............I just hope that I can pizz off all of the traditionalist with this one....now that the Bluegrass season is almost here! :P :P :P

Oh boy!! going to resurrect this old thread! I got Mike Collins to build me another world class dreadnaught! This time out of European Spruce and Mahogany, slotted headstock and joined at the 14th fret, because I did not have one like that! :) Just strung it up for the first time today. Amazingly loud and balanced. Cant wait to break it in! I will post some pics in a day or two as soon as I have time to load them onto the computer but,
for now....time to get picking this thing! this is my 5th guitar build from Mike and not the last! Thanks so much Mike!
