Post subject: Help with sending PM"s

I am having a little problem with "Personal Messages". When I click "Submit", the message goes into the "Out Box" but won't go into "Sent Messages" Does the person receiving the message have to be online and receive the message for it to go from "Out Box" to "Sent Messages"? Or, am I missing a step?
