Our get-together is coming up this weekend. Please let me know in this thread if you will be coming and how many folks will be coming with you. PM me with an email address and I will email you directions, address and phone numbers.

Looks like we're up to about 10 so hopefully 6 or 7 will be able to make it. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone that can make it. [:Y:]

Here is what we've got so far - subject to change by popular demand.

Meet at my house
Date Sat Jul 21 from 1pm to 6ish or when we get done.
Ideas for an agenda:
- Meet and Greet
- Shop tour - go down to the shop and check out tools and techniques.
- Short discussion on top plate deflection testing. Basically I'll show you what I'm TRYING to do.
- Show, tell, trade - guitars, wood, tools, whatever you want to bring
- Food - Pizza - I decided I would rather hang out than cook
- Jam/hang out/??

Still looking for demo's if anyone would like. My shop is reasonably well equipped and is available.

So thanks to you guys I've managed to have the incentive to clean my shop.

Ok, looks like I can't put in an attachment in a PM so if you guys can PM an email address I'll send you a PDF with all the info on it.

Sounds like a blast, Steve! I'm coming, and I'm bringing (interestingly) my mentor, James Condino, and my student, who's guitar we recently completed, John Faries. John worked at the Dobro factory back in the 70's. So me +2, if that's ok. James is bringing his hand-carved upright bass, and John and I will both have our recently completed builds.

I'll also bring something to contribute to a swap. James might have some mahogany. Anything else we can contribute? Looking forward to it!

Ken

That's great, looks like we're up to 5. I've emailed directions to both of you so let me know if you don't see them.

Shucks--I'm going to be out of town and will have to miss it. Hope you guys have a great time--hope I can make it next time around...

I've been working pretty much in a vacuum here in Knoxville for many years. It's good to know how many like-minded folks have been around all this time without my knowledge. I hope to get to meet you guys soon. East Tennessee is a great place to be! Have fun this weekend.

Dave

Dave, we'll miss you but hope we can catch you next time around. I've been working pretty much in a vacuum too; almost all of my contacts have been on the internet. I'm amazed how many folks there are around here and can't wait to meet everyone.

I think we're up to 9 or 10 for this Sat so should be a good time.

Sorry I missed the meet. I got back into town from vacation last night. I would love to hear how it went and maybe some pics?

I had a great time! I'm going to start another thread later (if someone doesn't beat me to it) with a few pics. Didn't take near as many as I meant to but Bryan took some too so maybe he can post his.

Right now I have to go to my aunt's and get her computer running.
