Hello guys and gals!

I just finished my #2 guitar. It´s pretty much a standard OM model, just a tiny bit higher waist.

Sitka spruce top braced with Swedish spruce (Picea abies), air-dried for around 200 years :)
EIR B/S
Mahogany neck
QS brazilian fretboard and bridge
Koa binding
Reindeer fretboard dots
French polished
and so on...... :)

And here she is!

Regards from Sweden!

Really nice.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thanks everybody!

I think she sounds great, even though i just strung her up. She has a really even string-to-string balance and i really like the warmness the tone has without losing it´s bite. i'm having a really hard time explaning tone in english so i guess i'll have to record a soundclip for you guys :) I'm not a great guitar-player but i'll do the best i can :)

Just a little story about tone. My friend and old arts and design teacher who has been building and repairing instruments since he was a teenager learned me everything a know about selecting wood for my guitars. But a month ago he really gave me a word that i can use to make people understand without even having e piece of wood there to show them. He told me it should sound like "whispering cleaningladies" when you touch it. I don´t know about the cleaningladies where you guys live but the explanation certainly fits like a glove here in Sweden. So thats a big part of my wood-selecting process now :)

About the pickguard, it´s a slabsawn brazilian pickguard i made from some small offcuts i got when i sawed out a couple of fingerboard blanks.

The textured background is the wallpaper in my 26 square meter (small) student apartment, and she is standing in my bed posing :)

I like it!
The high waist looks great,
and probably opens up the lower bout.
Great idea.
