HELP!
Image

For around 20 bucks I purchased a dozen fret markers at ASIA. MOP Peace symbols. They are for a commission. I used a preslotted fingerboard I already had. They really look cool and fit the theme...... Its a short scale board. The guitar is full scale. UUUUGGHHHH. I don't have the time or dough for a custom run on these. DePaul offered to make them but does not have them. Anyone know where I might find Peace Symbol Fret markers?
At A.S.I.A the fellow I bought them from was at 11 o'clock to entering the room. Far left corner. He had a bunch of fret markers. Does anyone have his name maybe?
Thanks guys.

Try Masecraft perhaps? I don't remember seeing that on their website, but I know they have stuff that's not on their website because I've been to their shop and actually regularly use a dot marker size that's NOT on their website. This seems like the kind of thing they might have.

Contact ASIA and see if they have a chart of where the tables/vendors were arranged.

John, you probably thought about this,,,since you should have four position markers left, putting one each at 5,7,9,and 12 wouldn't look that unusual. Or use regular dots for all positions and two peace symbol dots at 12.

Chuck

Maybe its 10 to a set? I only have 2 left. I did get some other cool inlay from the fellow. I will ask my "Client" if he wants a mix or different. Chuck I like the 12th fret idea. I could pull that off.
I'll will try Masecraft. Thanks

John,

If you can't find them, send me one and I'll make you what you need...no charge at all.
I think I owe you some "good will".

Am I missing something...

With even 10 markers, you should have plenty to put one marker at 3,5,7,9, 15, 17, 19, and 21. Then 2 at 12. If this is an acoustic, I doubt you have 21 frets... idunno

Yes. :geek:

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

He made up a fretboard (short scale) in the wrong size for the guitar (long scale), so he needs to make another one.

I'm not positive but I think that Chuck Erickson was in that corner of the room. He's the Duke of Pearl and should have what you are looking for.

He had small purses made of Frogs, lots of great inlay.....but no peace signs! I will email him if necessary. I am playing guitar with my buddy tomorrow and am showing him my "new " theme. I bet he's happy and I am back on track.
