Martin D28 basis from John Hall. I played it hard for two weeks before handing it over. But dang! It sounded great and played great. I have a fav Taylor 810 and anything I could play on it I could play on the new build. Played it amped at my church service. Found a few problems with the stick on wire clamps and volume control. Lesson learned there? Clean surfaces before sticking that stuff on. Argh!

But the BEST part was watching him smile on first strum. He even smiled as he wrote the check! I'd post pics but I'm mostly smart phone tethered and that seems to be impossible now. Dang! We take pics with our phones, and post them on popular social sites, but not possible on general purpose sites. Oh well.

Thank you. Really. But the big fat truth is I could not have done it with out ur help and advice. Period. I've learned to slow down, (very hard for me), ask questions, and take advice. And most of all, accept criticism. If I put up a picture of my work, I want the God's honest truth, not encouragement. You all are the best. I mean that. And if u got into this to build for clients, I want that to happen for you.

Building guitars is an expensive hobby. And Ramen noodles it is if I expect to live off of it. But it is kind of nice to offset the cost of building these adictive things.

I personally prefer to us the accounting and legal team at Cheatum and Howe they never fail to get results.

Well done, isn't it great to deliver a guitar to its new owner though to me it is like giving up a child, I always demand visitation rights.

Congrats Mike! My first was so stressful. I knew I could build a nice guitar, but so much could go wrong. Many people asked how I could let a guitar go that I had put so much time into, but frankly, the relief was palpable when I delivered that guitar!

Yes, I worry about what could go wrong. Argh. I imagine that goes away with time. But, I got into this for two reasons. One, too build specific designs for me; two, to build for others. In a way, that is an arrogant position. What makes me think I can do better than the pros? Martin? Taylor? You? Answer: prolly, nothing. Except, it's something I built. And, hopefully, it will outlive me. And that thought drives me to do better every day. No doubt, I have an addictive personality. I can't just run 4 miles. I gotta run marathons, 50ks, and even 500ks. It's hard to explain. But guitar building SO provides a creative outlet for me.

The day I found this website was an awesome one.
