Last oct I bought a small bottle of gorilla white poly at homeless depot ,to glue a side laminate of bubinga and maple to form an intersting side pattern for a tenor uke .Ever since then, it hardly ever gets used, this is my first time using poly white. What other uses have you found for this glue besides filling in air pockets around windows?? .I know there are a bunch of creative geniuses lurking on this forum. Please share your ideas thanks ernie

I don't want to hi-jack the thread but, Todd, do you use LMI white or fish glue for bindings? I'm just wondering if you prefer it over CA and, if so, why.

Are we talking Gorilla Poly Vinyl Acetate glue (PVA)? Works pretty much like Titebond - just a little crustier faster. Used it for a couple binding jobs, but LMI White or fish/hide are better and less of a PITA.

They have a "White Polyurethane Dries 2XFaster" adhesive now. http://www.gorillaglue.com/glues/fastcure/index.aspx

It is the gorilla clear translucent white polyurethane foaming glue. When I lay a bead down , try to make it uber thin , swells to 4 times its size .

The foaming stuff I've seen is more of an amber in color. When people say Gorilla white glue they are usually referring to the PVA glue which would be fine for all applications in a guitar. The foaming stuff IMHO should not be used in guitar building. Though some use them for gluing up double tops.

Thanks Todd. I should give fish glue a try. I like CA since it lets me get everything in place first but I'm just getting so sensitive to the fumes that I can almost count on a few days of cold symptoms after I do a binding job.
