I've built 2 (or maybe 3) guitars since the last time I said I was going to give my shop a good cleaning. (which I didn't)........so...........I've got to route the saddle slot, and make a nut and saddle for a "Jr." model (0ish short scale) them I'm going to give my shop a good cleaning. Should I post pics of my messy shop wow7-eyes wow7-eyes

Working on Romanillos #3 - a few side supports to add for each transverse brace and it's ready to close up. After that, I'll be doing binding for this as well as redoing one binding on Jose #2, and then fretboards/etc for both.

This will be the first one that I'm gluing the back on based on solera geometry rather than using David Schramm's shim method. I want to start using the double-wedged neck joint but thought I'd practice on the last regular slotted neck joint I was using, just to make sure I've got all the geometry locked down.

These are both sold. Next is a Barbero flamenco - I haven't finished a flamenco since 2009, and that's where my heart lies (but no market or feedback locally).

No doofus moves yet on this one [:Y:]

Bring it on, Woody! Hey, why don't you do the before and after thing, a 'workshop extreme makeover special'? ;)

After breaking 3 highly flamed Maple side cutaway sections for my 4th guitar in my bender gaah I finally broke out the manual bending iron and got the job done! I'm also in the process of staining and finishing my 3rd guitar. I picked up a new compressor, HVLP spray gun, and airbrush system for a more efficient finishing process. I hope!

Looks like Todd is sporting a pretty nicely tuned plane!

Wow Todd,

That brings back a lot of not-so-great memories.

My Father had an LG-1 he bought new the year I was born (same finish as the one you are working on). While I was away in the Military he took it to some local hack who did the same repair. Sadly he completely botched it up. He used a Martin belly bridge and didn't locate it properly, and the intonation was way off. He also filled some divots in the fretboard with *epoxy* and leveled the frets too thin.

I didn't find out about it until after he died (he had stopped playing, but I never knew why). The guitar has been marginally restored to playable condition since, but still needs a lot more work.

Todd, have you ever taken apart a similar era LGO and re-braced it with an X-brace?

I've got a 65 LGO with the plastic bridge with the top all bellied up, I removed the back several years ago with a plan to rebrace it. Someone "repaired" it long before I got the guitar, looked like they tried to glue in a sister brace next to one of the ladder braces that had split. Then, apparently, they poured some epoxy in the sound hole and shook it all about. I've got most of the top bracing off and the top cleaned up of most of the epoxy. I pull it out about twice a year and stare at it debating if I should rebrace it as original or X-brace it. Maybe I'll start a new thread and post some pics and seek some advice one of these days.

Nothing guitar related, but I spent Monday and the first part of Tuesday restoring a 1948 Delta lathe. I bought this in the early Spring of 2011. It really only needed new bearings, but I gave it some TLC too.

Got the top on a zebrawood/sitka build that I am doing a lot of new stuff on. My brain hurts from thinking outside the box. Maybe I should put it back on my head....
