While I have a tracing of the braces and a mold and bending form for a Martin 00 body from John Hall, I don't have dimensions of the side profile. The websites I've looked at have the body depth at the tail at 4 1/8" (same as a 000) but I haven't found the depth at the neck block. Is that the correct depth? Can someone give me the depth at the neck block?

This is deeper than I would have expected for a 00 body. For the folks that have built or played a 00 body, does the depth work ok? What are your thoughts about decreasing the depth a bit?

If I recall Martin 00's are 3 1/4" at the neck block and 4 1/8" at the tail. I have definitely played some older 00's that were more like 4", though. I think that most builders are in the 4-4 1/4 range.

The numbers I've heard, and the ones I go with are 3-1/4" at the neck and 4-1/16" at the tail. These are Martin's standard dimensions (I believe)

These include the top and back plates.

Christophe Grellier has some nice plans on his website

http://www.grellier.fr/plans.php?lang=en

His plans show 3-3/8" at the neck block including the soundboard and back

For a 12 fret OO I usually go 4 1/4 at the tail and 3 1/2 at the neck. I think the OO are usually deeper than the OOO's.
