Well, the joint will show the along the back of the neck.....It's your guitar but if it were mine and I was selling it for money, I would not use it, unless you're going to heavy burst/black the neck.

I just finished a simple, yet rather bold inlay on the fingerboard for a wenge/sinker redwood parlor based on the Martin 2 1/2 size. It for my friend who was in the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa, and came up with a black-and-white theme through the use of the wenge, ebony, and, yes, pre-ban ivory for the bridge, floating tail wedge, fingerboard "arrow" and nut and saddle.

Also, I'm final sanding a prototype guitar, which I'm calling The Odalisque, based initially on Taylor's Grand Concert shape, but with my own twist on the shape. Very lightly-built mahogany/lutz combo, with some Brazilian details, including bridge plate, headplate, bindings, rosette, heel cap.

I just finished the binding and purflings on an osage 12 string OM. My first time doing mitered purflings. I think it went fairly well...

Various stages of f.p.
I like this yellow siris!
(The pic with da green tape).
Subtle figure,
and when bonked at the bridge,
it rings for a while longer than my other boxes.
