Hi all. I thought I'd let the folks here know about a project that the NEL group is starting. We're all building instruments over the course of the next year based on the Martin OM/000, with the final part of the project being a concert by a couple great professional musicians playing several of those instruments.

There are a number of OLF members participating in this project including myself, Burton LeGeyt, Craig Sullivan, Alan Caruth, John Osthoff, Matt Gage, Mike Harwood, Wade Sylvester, and a few others I'm sure I've forgotten about.

Here's the beginnings of a blog we've started to begin to get the word out.

Sounds like a great project Don! I've bookmarked the blog and am looking forward to following the builds. Thanks for sharing it with the group. [:Y:]

Us builders are lucky too! The amazing Jim Kelly played 5 OM's for us at our last (first!) meeting and blew us all away with his playing. It was amazing to hear him adapt to the guitar each time. He played most styles you could play on these guitars and he did them all well and brought out the best and the differences in each guitar. It was a real eye opener in the best way.

It really was an eye opening experience. Those two Borges guitars were exception, and the Collings was no slouch either. Neither was a LeGeyt, but they were pretty good.
;)

Can't wait for the big concert at the end with Peter Mulvey and David Goodrich playing our instruments!

It's already epic and we've just begun. Great feats of lutherie are in the offing. But first, Thanksgiving. Have a great holiday folks.

I just started on 5 OM's, one of them for myself.
Where's the concert going to be?
