I knew it! Someone asked about this site a while back, and I had a strong hunch it was him. A bunch of other people pointed out various red flags anyway, and I didn't want to make accusations based on a hunch just incase they were an honest new supplier. But what really tripped my alarm was that picture of a giant spruce log with a chainsaw in front of it :) I'm pretty sure that exact photo was on the old site.

Another +1 for Alaska Specialty Woods. Definitely not the same outfit as the subject of this thread.

+1... I am certain that the similarities in name between Alaska 'Speciality' Woods and Alaska Tonewoods has caused Brent Cole no end of trouble.

I have bought wood from Brent Cole of Alaska 'Speciality' Woods and have nothing but praise for both the level of service and quality of product and its the same deal for others going by all the positive feedback Brent has earned. Great guy, great wood nothing but AAAAA+++++ all the way...which is the exact opposite of the feedback I have seen about the other mob, so don't confuse the two because they have nothing else in common other than Alaska in their name.

Cheers

Kim

Brent Cole is one of the good guys. Met him at the ASIA symposium in '04(?) and bought a couple amazing sets of bearclaw Sitka from him. They are two prizes in my stash that I look forward to using for a customer someday. His wood is fantastic.
