Hellouuu,... need help accoustic model for my sister.....

is there a model like this????

An accoustic guitar model with rather small body with long enough neck????

I already showed Dreadnough but it's too big for her or maybe the custom model??? what should I do????

help ...if you have known the model like that... thank's...

A dreadnought too big for a small female? Preposterous Are you looking for a finished guitar, a plan, or just examples/inspiration to design one?

In any case, at least try her on an OM. And if you can find one, a Gibson L-00 or similar. Good medium-small body size, short scale, and 14 fret neck.

Try a Martin 0 size guitar. I don't have the Martin specifications but mine is as follows:

Upper bout 10"
Lower bout 13 1/4"
Waist 8"
Body length 18"
Depth at neck 3 1/4"
Depth at tail 3 3/4"
Scale length 24 3/4"

Do you need more than 14 frets to the body? If not, a nice OM would do for most people and there are lots of plans.

Like Filippo, I suggest you look at an 00. I have two 12th fretters in the works and my wife loves the size. For plans, Christophe Grellier has nice plans for a 14th fret 00 on his website free of charge: www.grellier.fr

If you want a 12 fret neck, you can contact John Hall and get his tracing set. Less information to work from, but enough info to work things out if you've built a few.

L-00 might be the way to go. It's a very comfortable size. I think mine is about 14 3/4 lower bout. http://www.grellier.fr/plans.php?page=&lang=en

0 and 00 are cool small bodies. They are usually 12 fret-to-body, but there are some 14, and i'm sure you can find some plan somewhere.

hai AAron, I have OO plan w/ 14th fret from grellier,
my question is,,, which one longer; 12th or 14th?,
I've checked and they are almost equal in size...
I think the smaller is Martin O size but they have the same size for the neck ... would you suggest to me for the longer neck?

And Steven I interest for Martin O size, thank's for picture... is Grellier have Martin O size plan? for free?

Fillippo is correct that there is no Martin 0 plans available. That one pictured I designed myself. After that cool electric you built, designing your own acoustic will be a nice challange. Be sure to post your progress and we will help you succeed.

This is an L-00 based of a 1929 Gibson Nick Lucas Special.



The lower bout is 13", the body is 19" long with 14 fret neck joint, 25.6 scale which is pretty long for a small guitar.

You can really build what ever you fancy, just have to take everything into account when designing as Filippo mentioned.

good morning everybody, here just 06: 30 am...
ok... I see what you think about the length of the neck,... I can make cumtom measurement for the neck and maybe some design... thank's...
1 question: all of you. is your design have to save? on paper on cd maybe... and what program you use? I want save my design so that's for me to correction for another build to progress...

I don't have my designs on paper or computer, I just have body shapes and adjust as needed.

I used these plans with a standard x bracing pattern. Great sounding guitars and comfortable. The Nick Lucas shape looks more rounded and pleasing to me though.

Here are some sketches for a 0 size 14 fret I found a while back. Not really plans but should be enough to get going.
I adapted the bracing sizes from Grellier's OM plans (free) and also changed it to a 25.4" long scale.
These 0size guitars are really sweet....but my hand hits my knee alot while playing

Try that L-00 plan from the Grelllier site, or Quine's size 0. You can make the depth whatever you want, but to make it feel thinner without affecting tone, give it a Manzer wedge (tilt the back so the body is narrower on the bass side where the arm reaches over, and wider on the treble side where it doesn't matter). My current guitar in progress is a wedge, about 3.5" deep at the bass side lower bout, and 4.25" deep on the treble side. Depth at the center tapers from about 3.25" to 4.125" head to tail. Can't actually play it yet, but it definitely feels comfy. Construction wise, the biggest added difficulties are calculating the angle to cut in the bottom of the headblock, and cutting the binding channel on the skinny side. But both went off without a hitch, so it must not have been that hard.

And do install a pickup if she wants electric. Very convenient for quick recording without a silent room, and no harm aside from having to pay for it. I'm installing one of those L.R. Baggs Anthem pickups in this one. That and K&K Western Mini are the two I've heard the most good reviews for.

Hai Dennis, long ago I've bought, a mass production classic electric guitar,
it just have 2.5" body depth and average on all sides. what you think about the quality that should be generated of this guitar.
and all of this guitar from laminated wood (I mean plywood), but I think fisishing is well.. soon I 'll post that picture...
Problem is she like the model without known the sound quality.
If I built L-OO but the body depth just thin like 2.5" what you think??? It can do?
