I've personally found each of the threads you referenced useful and interesting from a lutherie perspective. Perhaps you might try posting something useful and interesting?

Me thinks someone needs to appreciate when another is joking around . If you did , wasnt aparent in response .

And I love the soapbox discussions as well , quite frankly it makes apparent those who have a closed mind and dont like being disagreed with . " Not aiming at anyone charlie " just an observation . So please dont think I am pointing at you , Im not.

I appreciate any and all input , however i have learned that there are some who are close minded about " the only way " it can be done , and I generally dont ask or use there advice . Why ? Because if everyone felt that way we would still have inqusitions and some here would be burned at the stake while the rest played lutes.

So now that ive stepped in the "cow pie " let the BS flow !

I'm with you, Jim; I enjoy all of the discussions and perspectives and try to learn from all of them. Some people have a way of discouraging discussion about certain topics, and I'm NOT talking about you, Jim. You and I know to let 'those comments' by 'those folks' go in one ear and out the other, but some don't...especially newbies who come here to ask questions and learn. IMO that behavior should be discouraged here, not encouraged.

That's all I'm sayin'.

The Padma's posts are pretty much perfect as is but if you haven't already, I highly encourage reading his posts in pirate voice. Feel free to throw in a couple of Arrrgggs here and there. Perhaps the Padma can start adding them in himself.
