I accidently posted this in the electric forum and they were expecting an electric... duh although this is an acoustic-electric... ;)

This is my number 6. Koa back & sides (...a second from Martin, the sides were bent, but had a small crack that I fixed... beautiful wood...), engelmann spruce top, ebony fingerboard, bridge an head plate, and lacewood rosette. Once I got to the finish stage it fought me every step of the way. gaah It has a few rough spots, but its acceptable. I'm giving it to my brother.

Beautiful guitar! What did you use for binding? Does your brother know he is getting it? I surprised my brother with a guitar and he just about crapped his pants. It's a great gift and I am sure he will love it!

Thanks Guys. The binding is faux tortoise I got from Martin. My brother knows I've been working on a guitar for him, but he doesn't know I finished it. I plan to surprise him this weekend.

I seem to average about one guitar per year. I'd like to improve on that. I have already started another (while working on this one). It is a Taylor style Grand Auditorium. I took the measurements from a Taylor I own. It is going to be Black Limba B & S, sitka or lutz top, and ebony binding. I have zircote fingerboard and bridge blanks and I've got some zircote that I plan to use for the end wedge, headplate, and rosette. I think it will be sharp looking. I also have some red purfling to include in the rosette and other binding.... I'm also seriously thinking of putting in a sound port, unless someone talks me out of it...
Steve

That's very nice Steve! Do the sound port.
