I have been using the Starbond CA (black med. viscosity) adhesive (CPH Int.) for a repair recently.
It is excellent stuff, dries very hard and tough, does not kick off without giving you time to align parts and the accelerator does not "overkick" it causing bubbles or turning it white and crusty like some others.

!!BUT!!-The accelerator for this contains Acetone and will eat into (especially recently applied) lacquer finishes.
I won't bore you with how I found this out but it was a painful (though valuable) lesson. The presence of acetone is actually noted on the bottle but since I've used all sorts of accelator over the years for CA I never even gave it a thought or checked....my mistake.

This is a great adhesive, but take care with how you apply the accelerator around finishes.

Starbond had a table at the recent ASIA show, and the rep mentioned that other accelerators will work with it so that might be worthwhile to check out as well.

Just a heads up.

Best

Funny Dave, Steve K and I both got some of that stuff. I bought it at the auction. When I got home I noticed
the Acetone on the label. That happened to me once before on a Gibson refret........ blech
Thanks for the heads up!
