Wow. What great pictures of a our first gathering! Thanks to all who posted and again to our fearless leader Jim. I am just a beginner but was inspired by all that was there.

I want to hear from Craig F. His fine inlay has me wanting to make another jig like his to create custom purflings. Hey Craig you out there. I did not get a demo of the jig and would love to see it again.

I also left Hibdon with some great looking Maple that Kevin Q helped me select for my next resonator. But I think I'll finish the first one before I start on it. :D

Looking forward to next year and hope to have something to show from this year.

Good Summer to all

For those who remember that resonator box and the 'Gathering', well it is finally together and ready to be finished. I may have broken tradition but I did a basic setup because I could not wait any long to see what sonic potential existed. I will play it a few days, let a couple local resonator players try it out and then get it ready for finishing. I think I am going to either finish with shellac of NC laquer. I am still deciding on which to use. I have spray equipment but no buffer. I think I can get a better finish with Shellac that lacquer (I think)

Looks good Ken. How does she sound? It is always tough when you get it all basically assembled, but have to do the finish (which os just as much work/time as the build).

Wish I could have been there Big Jim. I'm still stuck down here at Ft Benning, GA. I know I'll be home next year for this.
Nice guitars and tonewood pictures.

Assuming we are going to do this again next spring, it might be worth while to see if there is interest in any group buys. Orders could be made in advance and distributed at the gathering. I'm not sure if this is worth while or not but it could work if there are any quantity breaks on tuners or even cases and such. Discuss. . .
