Here are a few pics of my last guitar...Its been strung up now for about three Months. This is the plan that was designed by Micheal Payne...Although I don't seem to see him in here anymore I would like to compliment him on the good work put into his plan...I love the shape of this guitar and it sounds great....

Looks great, I love that shape. I keep seeing references to variou "OLF" guitars. Is there some repository of OLF plans?

(I'm just starting an OLF SJ build and this has made me mad I've not got the time to get into the shop.)

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Hi, Larry,
Yes, it's a beautiful shape and your craftsmanship and choices really make it stand out. I think the tasteful use of abalone works great with the beautiful silking in the top. And that curved fingerboard extension is a killer of a visual feature. I'm inspired.

Question: Did you also build the fireplace surround?

Cheers,
Patrick
