Hey Thanks Kim for you detective work.

For some reason I can't find the revised list which is different from the one you posted there. The book did make it to Ron Wisdom which was the last I heard of it. He (according to the revised list I can't find) was to send it on to Larry Presnell as per this PM from him back in Dec 09

Ron Wisdom wrote:
Hey, Rod

Yes, I read the book and shipped it to Larry Presnell way back in April.
We were emailing fairly regularly about it, so I assume he received it as he didn't respond again after I told him it was on the way.

Ron

I'll pm Larry to see what ever became of it.

Yeah, this was a fun thing to do. I enjoyed reading everyone's comments and adding something of my own. I would like to see it get back to Rod and finish its long trip around the planet! Hesh sent it to me by mistake(5 or 6 guys were ahead of me on the list).I sent it to Ron I think but it did get back on track. BTW- I loved the book! It told a tale of Waynes world
that was very interesting. I think I'll read it again.....

Thanks Kim for your help with this.

I've revived that post and sent Larry a PM.

Looks like it could be hitting the west coast soon [:Y:] and rounding 3rd.

Hey Rod and everyone...I did indeed send the book (Making Clapton's Guitar) to Dave after I read it...the Clapton bio was the book I started and I haven't heard from it in ages...I had given up on ever seeing it again...however, if it is still out there I have since moved across the border to Mississippi...see my website for my address:

www.presnallguitars.com

I should say that I'm not put out at all if the book never shows, only that it would be cool to have all the signatures and comments regarding the book's journey...

Peace,

Larry

Dave who, Larry?

I'm going to have to dig deeper into my computer to find that email I sent to Bruce with the revised list.

Hey Rod,

I sent the book along, I was thinking to Dave Higam but now I can't swear it was to him...I know some folks asked about getting the book after a list had already gotten pretty long...thing is, I had a book going around too and folks were asking for it so I was kind of looking at both lists...long story short, I sent it out but can't remember to who...I'll go back through my PM's and see if that'll show....

Larry

I just went thru my PM's regarding the Rod's book and I don't see anything...only my exchange with Ron Wisdom about sending it to me...Dave Higham was the next in line for the Clapton bio that I started...so, I don't recall who I sent it to after I read it, but I'll keep on it...if I used my FedEx discount maybe I can look it up that way, but I'm pretty sure it went out media rate...I'll be in touch...hey, just a thought...when an account is deleted from the OLF are all the posts and PM's deleted as well?

Found this thread interesting... If anyone's still interested in finding a copy I can ask around.

Allen is the assistant coach of my daughters softball team. Undefeated softball team that is. [clap]

I was lucky to attend the book launch party too...Top 3 or 4 makers in the country were there that night. Lots of fun, especially for a book party. laughing6-hehe Wayne is a great guy too. Amazing talent obviously.... but super great guy.

My wife is a writer too... I'm willing to bet Allen has a few boxes stored in his basement (like we do). Unfortunately I can't part with my copy... autographed by both of them. [:Y:]

Sorry!

Great read anyway! If anybody else would like to read it I could send it around I guess! :D

It'd be good if it finds it's way home.

I was #4 on the list, didn't get to read all the comments it must have in it by now. I wouldn't mind seeing some scans of all the comments if you ever see it again Rod.

Wayne lives a few mountains and valley's away from me.
I've never been to his shop but I guess I ought to go some day.
I always feel a bit weird visiting people like that though. I read the book.
I thought it was a very good read.

Kim, I can say that at least, I didn't send it to Brock! I looked all over my past posts trying to figure out who I did send it to...I'm thinking maybe he isn't on the forum anymore...as for my book, the Clapton bio, I haven't seen hide, hair, nor cover of it since it left me...Rod, I'd be happy to buy you a new book if you like, since I am where the trail went cold...I know that it wouldn't be the same without the inscriptions and the journey taken, which were the whole point...but the offer's on the table!

I've just seen this thread for the first time and, as my name was mentioned, I thought I'd better confirm that the book I received and sent on was the Clapton autobiography. I received it from Coe Franklin and sent it on to Chuck. I was too late to get on the Clapton's Guitar list as the book had already visited this side of the pond.
I bought my own copy of Clapton's Guitar and wasn't impressed. Nothing to do with Wayne Henderson, it was the writer. The way he went on about it you expected Clapton would come and worship at the feet of the 'world's greatest luthier' to collect his guitar. Instead of that, he took it to London and handed it over to one of Clapton's flunkeys. Very disappointing.

Hi guys,

I would love to get MY book back. It saddens me that it got lost. Nothing we can do about it I guess as no one knows who has it....

Thanks for the offer Larry, but it's the book that went around the world that I want back.

I emailed Bruce Dickey and he doesn't have the revised list that I email him many years ago. I honestly don't know where it might be. It must have gotten mixed up in some other book exchange.

I think maybe we can start a new thread or just PM all who were on the list.

Kim, thanks Mate for your help, I really appreciate it. No, Brock wasn't on the list to receive the book.
