Here's my latest:
Macassar ebony back( 4 piece-from lumberyard), sides head veneers and bridge
Heavy bear claw Sitka top (Brent Cole)
Honduran mahogany neck
curly Koa bindings and butt wedgie.
carbon fiber reinforced neck plus truss rod-(I ran the CF almost all the way to the end of the board)
Bolt on neck (butt joint)
Nitro finish (by me)
Gotoh 510 mini tuners-15 to 1 ratio with black finish-These are the most precise tuners I have ever used!

I put on light gauge strings-tuned to full pitch 24.9" scale-sounds nice-much "sweeter" than the Stella repros I just made-still has a lot of "opening up" to do....

Sorry for the not so great pictures-but they should give you the idea.

Purdy! Tubby little thing, I like it :) Big and round curves and cutaway horn, wide rosette, and then the larger 12 string bridge to top off the look.

But my favorite part is the headstock. Very cool shape. And I don't normally like the "rat tail" backstrap style (although I do appreciate it from a strength point of view, in any case), but this one's tail isn't too long and skinny, and thus looks pretty cool.

All in all, a fine piece o' work, as usual [clap]

Nice one Brad!!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

You've got a nice lumber yard there, Brad. That's some beautiful macassar. I don't always like the figure of bearclaw sitka, but that's a real pleasing set. Great work!
