I'm guessing it would probably work with the native Linux drivers also, as this has been the case with the couple of webcams I've used on my laptop.

Google or Yahoo "The Seeker 050 USB Video Inspection System" it is available lots of places for even lower prices.
It would be interesting to see how clear the video is, one of my son's friends is a plumber and has a bore scope and the view is useful for seeing sewer blockages but would bot be detailed enough for our purposes. David Collins made a unit from a usb computer camera that does a good job. I think we would need the ability to focus on close images to be real useful in repair work and I see no specification on focus only field of view.

I did cleats for years with a collection of mirrors and small lights placed inside the guitar.
This tool would have made the job (and other work inside instruments) so much easier!
