That is one gorgeous guitar, Fred! eek And what a fabulous back set! And headstock! And backstrap! I think the black nut and sadle tie in very nicely with the coco too. [:Y:] [:Y:]

No just shell and BWB purfling. I actually enjoy mitering and matching the Abalone pieces. I glue them in the channel with thin CA.

The guitar is going to J.B. Davies who is one of the founders of the Michigan Fingerstyle Society. I wish I could keep it for myself but he will make it sound much better than I ever would so it will have a better home. I wish I had bought a couple of the back sets from the Zootman though I know where one set is (PaulK) and will make him an offer. I have become a great fan of Cocobolo and the sets from that particular billet were all beautiful.

When the Zootman posted pictures of that set on this Forum about a year ago, I knew I had to get it and build something with it. I wish I had bought a couple sets from that billet. Check in this topic http://luthiersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=375056#p375056 for the post Bob made of this set.
