This is a question for anyone who has used the Gotoh M6 minis (not interested in the 510 minis). What have you found is the maximum peghead thickness for using the M6 minis? I looked for their specs online, but didn't find any.

Thanks in advance.

Schaller on the left, Gotoh on the right.

There's very little in it; the post is marginally shorter on the Gotoh, although the threads on the bushings seem to engage at around about the same point on both. That being the case, whatever you determine the limits to be for Schallers should also apply when determining maximum peghead thickness for the Gotohs.

If you're not convinced, let me know your desired peghead thickness and I'll create a mock-up with one of the Gotohs on a piece of scrap.

Thanks, Pete. I appreciate the offer to do a mock up, but I'm in the process of redisigning my 12 string peghead, so I'll just make a mockery myself. I do know there's a little difference between the regular gotoh m6 tuners & schallers, because I had one peghead (around 5/8" thick) where the threads on of the Gohoh wouldn't engage, but the Schallers did. I think part of the problem is the clunky gotoh washers are thicker than those of the nicely beveled Schallers. Anyway, thanks again.

I use Gotohs .. and my pegheads are about .580 or so. Thickest they can handle is about .600 or .615, as you mention, but 625 is just too thick.

Thanks, Tony. Sounds like they handle about the same depth then as the regular Gotohs.
