I did hear from another forum, second hand from a physicist, that it is possible. On the other hand, he also said that a centrifuge would be better (I think that is that flat round thing in the park), though it might just snap back after one stopped centrifuging it. The other snapping sound was my neck trying to keep up with the idea that it could settle but might just snap back after the centrifuge.

I'm sorry, but the physicist is wrong. I hate to be condescending, but this is pretty basic stuff. A high school chemistry student should get this question right on a test. [headinwall]

A centrifuge can separate emulsions or suspensions, such as blood, it can not separate true solutions.
