Both of these men have received a lot of praise in this forum. I generally shy away from lavishing superlatives on people. But, today I need to throw in my dos centavos.

I've been looking for some premium back & side wood for the Santa Rosa show. A couple of months ago I bought a macassar set from RC Tonewoods. Just this week I received delivery of a parlor-sized set of ziricote from Steve at Colonial Tonewoods--plus some incredible free extras.

I've never dealt with anyone more personable and with more integrity than Bob Cefalu (and family) and Steve Roberson. On top of that, their product is always of the highest quality. My problem is that I find both Bob's macassar set and Steve's set too beautiful to use on a spec guitar. They're deserving of a special commission instrument. Hopefully, I'll get over my infatuation by January, and choose at least one of them for a show guitar.

I prattled on longer than I'd planned, but I had to give voice to my respect for both "Colonial Tonewoods" Steve Roberson and "RC Tonewoods" Bob Cefalu. Thanks, gentlemen for making this inherently rewarding trade even more so.

End of gush. Start of mini diatribe. Bob, I love the wood you supply, and you'll always be the Zootman to me. However, it drives me nuts when they call fancy wood, "zoot"! AAAAArgh! (my problem, I guess) End of rant. Happy new year.

mike propsom

It's a good thing RC is on the other side of the Continent. I'd be money poor but wood rich.

Happy New Year All!

Most of what I buy, comes from these two. Never had to send anything back.
