So when I was 14, I was an Oscarshmidt dred. Not so much for this hopefully happy customer. (I guess I will see if he is happy after Christmas).

That's right, this one is on its way to a 14-year-old boy for Christmas.

Here are the specs:

Adi top
Curly Maple b/s
Mahog neck
Ebony bridge, fingerboard, headstock overlay, end wedge, heel cap and truss rod cover
Black and curly maple purfling on the top/back/sides
Maple and Black purfling only rosette (a first for me)
Joe White finish

But my favorite part of it all, I got the board for the back/sides from Woodcraft in Nashville, TN for $16!

My thoughts exactly. That maple is pretty special and the dark binding sets it off perfectly.

NICE Geetar!The 14 year old SHOULD be elated!!!!! I'm also becoming a HUGE fan of the curly maple. Easy on my wallet and a great wood to work with. Pretty stuff and finishes like few others.

That is a great looking guitar Chris;
Maple is a great tone wood, finishes well and is very reasonable , price wise.
I am sure the new owner will really love your efforts,
Merry Christmas !

We need a drooling icon. That's an incredible looking guitar. I think I like tiger maple as much as cocobolo. I'm curious about the tone. Will maple make a bright sounding guitar or can it be made to sound dark? Whatever that means. Can we hear it?
