When all else fails, clean the shop.

Listen to the song again. The 'Sunburst with a crack" wasn't his perfect guitar either but after it was gone he "would rock it like a baby in his arms" if he got it back. Seeing that fretboard and body destroyed brought that part of the song to mind...not the smashing perfect guitars part. Ebony is in such short supply. We will miss it when it is gone. Seeing the work you put into the neck wasted was a shame and I'm sorry you had to resort to such extreme measures. Too bad the fretboard couldn't have been reused. I hope you feel better.

I had some broken sides, bent and with linings installed in my shop for 15 years hanging on a hook as a reminder to not do stupid things. Well those sides are almost ready to be polished out on my first double top classical guitar experiment, The broken part of the sides was removed and the guitar is a cut out body. Looks weird but it's just an experiment.

IF I were to build something that needed to be destroyed, then I would do so. But first I'd definately bust the fretboard off of the neck and retrieve the truss rod, for use in another build, as well as anything else I thought could save me some cash later on. Nothing wrong with trashing one's mistakes, but anything usable would be scavenged first.
In fact, I'm thinking of stripping my first build (electric) and using the hardware and parts to build my second. Money's tight, and I've already gotten what I wanted out of the first build, ie; the experience. Now I need to move on to the next.
