Rosewood is often said to be easy to bend. Santos was easy for me to bend, but Guatamalan made me think I'd break my arms. It was on a pipe and about .080", it ultimately came out pretty well.

My experience with dense rosewoods is that they comply much better if thinned some more.

How thin do you go? Guatamalan is said to be really good sounding wood.

The Guatamalan RW I have is less dense than most rosewoods. It's actually pretty darned light. I haven't tried bending it yet, though I'd assumed, naively perhaps, that it would be relatively easy to bend. Now I'm curious what others have experienced with it. :?

I normally need to thin the waist and upper bout more than the lower bout. Let's say 0.07 for very dense Madagascar, and even 0.06-0.065 for the waist with Amazon, and the stuff still felt like steel. For average density Indian or Madagascar, 75-80. My shape is similar to 00 and OM.
