I'm still working with pre-made Martin type bridges from LMI, even though I'd prefer to develop my own profile. When I look at it, the Martin style doesn't seem as wide as others. For curiosity's sake, what are the general footprints of your bridges?

here is one I am drawing up..for a 12 string build for a friend..
any comments on sizing or dimensions would be appreciated...I have been surfing the forums here and the Australian forum for ideas..
the spacing between the treble strings is 9/64 and 5/32 between the bass strings..saddle size is 3/16 for intonation , string spacing is 2 5/16,
I plan on a 1 13/16 nut and 2 1/4 width at the 12 fret ...

I like to keep the bridge at 6 inches wide . The wider the bridge , the more mass you are adding to the guitar. Remember the mass is the enemy. I love the pyramid bridge personally and use sometimes use a hybrid belly/pyramid . Most of my bridges are 6 wide and 1 3/8 deep with .400 thickness

Not always it isn't, sometimes it's your friend - it all depends on your design and the sound you are after. Mine are 160mmx30mm (6.5"x1.25") unless it's a harp guitar
